Musescore 4 every other line has a long measure
How do I prevent this? Every other line has 1 measure that goes across the whole page.

Remove the System break (end of Bar 5), let MuseScore do the layout and you adjust things at the end of entering the piece only if you need to.
Or reduce stretch on those 4 measures
Or use wider paper, narrower page borders or a smaller scaling
