Changing duration to double, including time signatures (MS4)

• Jul 19, 2023 - 02:15

Hi all. I am looking for a way to double the duration of a section, also doubling the length of time signatures (e.g. passage in 3/8 doubles to 3/4, with all note values doubling as well so there's the same number of bars.) This, with the current version, gets tricky when the time signature is constantly changing as in my work. For example, Stravinsky's Sacrificial Dance may look easier if the time signatures are quarter-note based, but it's hard to change it manually right now. Does anyone know a possible workaround?

If not for the time signature, then paste double duration would do it. If you're handy with ABC notation, it would be simple to alter the M: and L: tags to do this, so exporting to MusicXMl, converting to ABC, editing, then importing back, would do the trick. Or probably some DAW could do it. Other possibilities that are no less awkward.
