Tab order within a score

• Aug 17, 2023 - 20:07

OS: Windows 10 Version 2009 or later, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.1.1-232071203, revision: e4d1ddf

hmmm, I'm using Win 11 so not quite sure why the "About" says Win 10....

I have been a dummy again. The tabs at the top of my score are in the wrong order and do not reflect the names I assigned them.
I have shut the computer AND the score down (that old stand-by) but alas..

please see attached

So how should I 1) re-arrange the Tab order and 2) get the tabs to reflect the name of the instrument on the score?

So, you have two different names for trumpet. Bb Trumpet and Trumpet in Bb. You and I know they are the same. But it may be that MuseScore treats them as two different instruments. Hence, two different locations in the mixer and such.
When I add trumpets to a score, the listing is for trumpet in Bb. That's how they are listed and numbered everywhere. Score, Tabs, and mixer. How did you get Bb Trumpet?

You can change the instrument name in the score by selecting the first measure>right click>select Staff/Part properties>change long and short name>Apply>OK.
Change the name in the parts tab by selecting the Parts button>select the three dots to the right of the part in question>Rename
No idea how to change the name in the mixer. Might not be possible because MuseScore needs to know what key the trumpet is in.

It must be possible as either I have accidentally changed a couple of names or MS4 has done it itself... See the attachment and look at the Tpt names at the bottom of the mixer
