Troublesome column

Hi, Sometimes when I am composing, I will do something by accident, I don't know what, and a column will appear. Tied notes just jump over it. You can't delete it. It will have semibreve rest in it, but this appears on the right side of the bar and not on the left as they usually are in an empty bar. Any suggestions?
