(Way) Simpler pedal-line entry

As a composer/arranger/copyist, I'm used to working with piano pedal lines like these:

...where the pedalling begins, and often has one or more "up/downs" before the pedal is released.

Although this is the most common use of the marking I ever see, I'm surprised to find (unless I'm overlooking something) that there's no easy way to do it in MuseScore. One must:

1. Add a starting pedal line, with the "Ped." symbol—which, oddly, one must often manually add to the line by:
   a. Selecting the line
   b. On the Properties palette, clicking Appearance, then clicking Text
   c. Pasting this code into the "Beginning text" box: [sym]keyboardPedalPed[/sym]

(Don't ask me how I even learned about that—I must've found it in a thread here. Also, the forum wouldn't let me use the "smaller than" or "greater than" symbols the actual code uses, so I've replaced them with square brackets for the purposes of this post.)

2. Select and use another line-segment tool for each separately-sustained part of the line.

3. Select and use an "end-of-line" segment tool.

4. Zoom way in so one can see at the pixel level (!) and manually, painstakingly align all of these created segments—both vertically, so they're level with each other; and horizontally, so their ends meet in a deliberate-looking way.

And because there's still no way to select and move multiple objects in MuseScore (a big oversight, IMHO—hope you can fix that soon!), to move an entered pedal line vertically (e.g. to accommodate edited music), one must zoom way back in and re-select and move each segment separately—either settling for uniform large movements via the up/down arrow keys (there's still no way to use the keyboard to move objects smaller distances—another big oversight, IMHO); or as is more often the case, having to zoom in to the pixel level again and painstakingly drag-realign each segment.

This is all terrifically time-consuming and, IMHO, wackily unnecessary in an app that's supposed to take care of such predictable, standard things. (When entering a pedal line with starting, middle and ending segments, they should vertically align and join automatically, as 1st- and 2nd-ending lines do... When would you ever not want them to do that?)

That said, I have an even simpler idea. Imagine a single Pedal Line tool that worked like this:

1. Select the tool, then click and drag to add the line (as with a current pedal-line tool).
2. To add an "up/down" indicator to the line (like my graphic example above), just click that place on the line.
3. To move the "up/down" indicator, drag it left or right.
4. To remove the "up/down" indicator, double-click it, and the straight line is restored in that place.

It would take seconds, rather than the frustrating, patchwork system we have now—and give us exactly what we need and expect in standard notation.
