Some issues concerning text (lyrics)
Some issues concerning text (lyrics):
- the hyphen: the hyphen should be placed under each melodynote that is sung between syllables; now i see only 1. In long melismatic melodies that is way too less, and is quite confusing for performers.
- the last syllable of a word may be stretched out over more than 1 syllable. In that case the underscore will produce a line. Works fine, as long as the line doesn't have to jump to the next system; it simply doesn't.

A hyphen should not appear under every melody note. One hyphen is almost always the correct behavior. If you are able to research more information on this issue feel free to share. Please cite sources.
I filed a report for the second issue your mention. See #3961: Melisma line over system break

You are right, not under every note. But i can't find a score in my (digital) collection where there's only 1 under loger (and even shorter) melismatic vocal parts. I attach a couple of examples by different publishers.
