Can you post a single sample score and steps to reproduce the problem? It's no fun to go digging around forum threads trying to figure out the problem.

Part of the reason I didn't is because it involves discussion and a host of examples. I don't know what the problem is, hence why it was posted in the forum - I hoped conclusive issues would be filed, but that didn't happen, so I just linked to those threads so they won't become lost.

An example: When you compare the PNGs in this , clefs, time signatures, text, ledger lines, bar lines, stave distances and stave lines are either different position-wise, or in their drawing (e.g. thickness) - or both.

Again, it's not fun to pore through fourm threads looking for files and then trying to guess what problem you are seeing with them/ Please post *specific* files here, with *specifci* steps to describe the *specific* problem you are seieng. Something about the centering of special charcacters being off by a pixel when used as lyrics, it seems maybe? i really cannot tell.

I made an animated GIF of those PNGs (from here ) to highlight the differences. They aren't of the latest nightly because things seem to have changed and it might be more difficult to illustrate.

1. The position of the clef, time signature, and notehead (the latter could be because of lyrics). The thickness of the ledger line.
2. The distance between staves. The character font. The thickness of the staff lines.

I still cannot trell what you are talking about. I have no idea what these OPNG files represent. *Please* post the *actual score you are having problem with*, and *precise step by step instructions on how to reproduce the problem*.

As a point of reference, givne the vague description in the title, I tried the following:

1) load attached score
2) export to musicxml
3) load exported musicxml file
4) compare

As far as I can tell, aside from a difference in the title frame size, the reuslts are pixel-for-pixel identical.

So whatever you are talking about must be something different.

Some of the differences are due simply to style settings. The original file had settings other than the 2.0 defaults that are used on import. Plus the fact that the imported file is given a title frame and is missing a line of lyrics changes the system distances. Nothing wrong with anything here, except the missing lyrics, which are caused by #40206: [MusicXML] Invalid file exported due to empty lyric and/or #40211: [MusicXML] import and export of symbols embedded in text.
