What are the settings in Edit → Settings... → Paths, Soundfont folder (and does any of them contain a soundfont)
What are the settings in Edit → Settings... → I/O (you could post a screen shoot maybe)
What (if any) soundfont is loaded in View → Synthesizer (should be FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3)
Have you been using Beta 1 before?, If so, does a revert to factory settings help? See http://musescore.org/en/node/35956
Issue solved; when installing the new musescore (Beta 2), the old soundfonts (from Beta 1) were deleted. I made a new path to the default soundfont from beta 2 and it is now working fine, thank-you.
When I exported my old music files through to Musescore 2, the sound won't work, but obviously it will work on all other programs. I have tried everything. But the issue is that the playcount and metronome will have sound but the actual exported music won't.
Please ask for help in the support forum (not here in the issue tracker) and include details of what OS you are using, what soundfont is loaded in View / Synthesizer, and what audio settings you have in Edit / Preferences / I/O.
