musescore doesn't save on my mac

I have a mac os 10.5.8 and I've been trying to work with MuseScore but it doesn't save.
I can write, I learned the program this afternoon and it seems perfect for my needs but in the end I tried to save and it's not working. I have no idea why.
Does anyone have a similar problem?

Try following the install instructions on the "Mac" section of Installation .

Are you opening up MuseScore from the Applications folder or are you opening from the icon that appeared when you first downloaded the software (on your desktop or downloads folder)?

In the future it is best to ask support questions on the forums .

Thank you for your time on this.
I'm doing opening it the applications folder, as installed.
I can actually save the document but when I open it (after having quit MuseScore) the file being opened is the initail demo!

Hopefully you know what the problem is!
