Musescore 2 crashing upon startup
I just installed musescore 2 for Windows 8, and it seems like the installation went fine. However, when I click on the shortcut to start it up, my computer just freezes after a few seconds. Do I need to remove the old musescore for this to work, or is there some other issue?

MuseScore 2.0 and 1.x coexist peacefully, try http://musescore.org/en/node/35956 and see whether that fixes the crash

Didn't work unfortunately. I also tried to delete both versions and reinstall musescore 2, but it still crashed.
Update, I just installed it again and it decided to work this time. Thanks for the help!

This is the same issue that I and a few others have raised two weeks ago. In view of your recent success, I'll re-install and try again. Wish me luck!
Unfortunately, the new download performs like all the ones before it. It crashes my PC and freezes everything, including the cursor.

When I deleted both and reinstalled MuseScore 2, it froze upon first try. When I restarted my computer, the shortcut icon was blank so I installed it one more time without deleting it. After that the program finally opened! You should try it this way, it's worth a try.
