Pleeeeease tell me how to do artificial harmonics!
I would like to put artificial harmonics into a piece I'm working on, but there are a few things I would like to ask first.

This link will take you to an image of how an artificial harmonic is written. So, the first thing I would like to know is this: I can see this symbol on the articulations palette: o

But it claims that this symbol is a 'thumb position' (I don't know what this means). I would also like to know how to access the diamond-type note head.

Note heads are changed from the Note Heads palette, or via the Inspector.

Sure, I don't see a reason not to if you want it. I've never seen that symbol used for harmonics before, but have no doubt it is some times used for that purpose as well well.
