Crackling in playback audio

Heya,
Whenever I play back what I've written there are sections where the playback becomes very, very crackly and often distorts the note of a particular instrument. Sorry if this issue has already been raised, is there any known way to remove this? Even on explorting flac or wav file has this crackling.

Which particular part ?
Strings CPL in the default soundfont is known to be cracky : #5162: Artefacts in "Strings CLP" sound (TimGM6mb.sf2).
You can try Display -> Mixer to lower the volume of the offending track.
The instruments that are giving me the most trouble seem to be the flute, Bb Trumpet, Horn and Contrabass. I've tried pulling all of them back but the crackling still occurs.
Which version of MuseScore are you using ? On which OS?
Do you use the default soundfont?
Does it crack less when you lower the volume?
It's still cracks just as much, just quieter.
