• Sep 25, 2010 - 15:12

MuseScore 0.9.6.3 bug fix release is available for download. Installation packages are available for Windows and Mac OS X. Linux users have to wait for their distribution maintainers to make a package.

If you installed the release candidate, please uninstall it and upgrade to this version.

During the past month, MuseScore development team has fixed more than 12 bugs on the MuseScore 0.9.6 code, in particular: #6775: Seg. fault by double clicking any element twice.

You can find a list of bug fixes in the release notes. Danish handbook has been added and interface translations have been updated from the translation server.

Don't forget that you can help MuseScore in many ways.

As always, thanks so much for the hard work! All you developers deserve lots of recognition and money, and you probably receive neither. But your tireless work is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the hard work, and I can't wait to use the new version myself as soon as it's available for my Linux distro...

Message from Toby on the mailing list:

Hi everyone,

MuseScore 0.9.6.3 is now available in the official Ubuntu 10.10 repositories. I'll try and find some time soon to have it backported and put in the PPA for 10.04 (and maybe 9.10), and to have it uploaded into Debian. Alas, it seems that it is still failing to build on armel. If there are any potential/reclusive armel users of MuseScore, we'd love to hear about it!

All the best,

- Toby

Is it possible to run the ubuntu 10.10 version on ubuntu 10.04 (which, by the way, needs to remain supported by muse score because it is a long term support version and I'm sure manu ubuntu users do not want to upgrade every six months)?

I tried contacting him a while ago and he's not gotten back to me. Strange that there should be pre-releases for 10.04 but not stable releases; just throwing that out there. If there's anything that I can do to help move the process along that is not terribly time consuming and does not require much/any background knowledge, it is possible I might be able to help.

Thanks,

To whom it may concern, I would like to say that MuseScore is probably the most awesome free software ever. I am a composition student at a certain University and my professors are really stuck on the expensive, user UNfriendly software, which would be fine if I had a winning lottery ticket and nothing to do. BUT, since I am a starving music student I need something cheap and fast and MuseScore delivers, not just free but powerful quality that is amazing. Being able to save as a PDF, XML, WAV and other formats has completely blown the other software away. But the final product is what counts right? I turn in my composition homework and my Prof's dont even notice the difference. In fact, I get asked "why do my instrument samples sound so good?". I am forever grateful to the creators, all of you.
