organ soundfont

• Nov 5, 2010 - 11:53

I have found an organ soundfond I would like to use. It has just the stops I need. After creating the organ-staff I went to the mixer to make my choice. But I found I can only choose one voice there for all three system-lines (G,F and bass). I would like to know If and how I can choose per voice. And even better how I would change stops in mid sentence when needed.

Thanks in advance,

Ursus

2) Changing stops during a piece it is not possible (yet?).

1) Setting different stops for the three organ staves is not possible directly. However, there is a (rather cumbersome) way around:

1) While creating the score, add 3 (THREE) organs.
2) Once you have the score (with 9 staves), delete the accolades for the second and third organ.
3) Open the menu "Create... | Instruments..."

4) Select (click on it) and [Remove] the following individual staves:
1st organ: 2nd and 3rd staf
2nd organ: 1st and 3rd staf
3rd organ: 1st and 2nd staf
OR, in other words, leave only:
* the 1st staff of the first organ
* the 2nd staff of the 2nd organ
* the 3rd staff of the 3rd organ
then press [OK] to close the dialogue box.

5) Double click the accolade and drag its lower 'handle' to encompass all three staves
6) Delete the first and the third "Organ" instrument labels.

Now you have a regularly-looking single organ score, but in "Display | Mixer" you can select a different stop for each staff.

I'll leave to you to decide if it is worth the effort or not.
