Special character not displayed

• Nov 9, 2010 - 16:33

An Italian forum user, wakantanka , indicates that when he opens the Special Text Symbols Palette (F2), one of the special character, the penultimate, is not displayed correctly.
This problem occurs using Windows XP SP3 and MuseScore 0.9.6.3, while this special character is displayed using Ubuntu 10.10 and MuseScore 0.9.6.3

Best regards
Antonio

It may mean that wakantanka does not have fonts on his computer with that character in it. It looks fine for me on Windows 7 using MuseScore 0.9.6.3.

What is he wanting the character for?

my previous post is not right ...
the comparison with different “special characters” is made with Winows XP and IMac ( IMac has the complete set)
any way it sounds strange to have in a font set a graphic - character ( as shown in snap shot) and NOT the same character reversed
what do you think about?
Thanks...

If a glyph is not found in a given font MuseScore looks up other similar fonts for the glyph and use them if found. So it may depend on the system environment, what glyphs are found or not. The current trunk tries to be more predictable by including a complete standard font which then is available on all platforms. All styles are changed to use this standard font.
