Voltas: Text of beginning fails to go above the line
Nighlty b376184 / Windows7
1) Open a score → Add a volta
2) Right-click on the line → Line properties
3) At Begin/text : change the place (Below default) for: Above
Result : nothing happens. The text remains below the line.
- Note : works with Left place.

This is currently by design. The wording needs to be clarified; the "above" and "below" setting really just mean, it will overlap the line rather than appear to the left. But the actual vertical position is controlled by the text properties. So if you want the text above, you need to change the text properties to make that happen (eg, use "bottom" vertical alignment).
