Add buttons to toolbar to activate plugins?
In the current stable version, is it possible to add buttons to the toolbar? For example, if I want to activate a plugin by clicking a toolbar button, instead of going to the Plugin menu, is that possible? If not, can I have a keyboard shortcut to activate a plugin?

keyboard shortcut is available already. You set it in the Plugin Manager

I gave it a try with some of the built in plugins and it didn't seem to work with me. I tried to make shortcuts for random score and color notes. Even tried restarting the program and the shortcuts didn't do anything.
