System distance
In my SATB score, the distance between staffs with lyrics between are too large (ex: between Tenor and Bass) but if I lesson the distance, the Tenor/Alto staffs are too close together.

usually one finds some average choice.....
but it's sure that distances configurations is for all staffs, and cannot be fixed per staff
You can set them close together and then use spacers to increase the distance between those that are too close.

Thanks for the comments. I tried spacers in a different score but when I drag the spacer over, it sits between the clefs and I'm unable to highlight it to create more space. (the clefs get highlighted instead. See m.21 in attached score).

I have no problem selecting that spacer. If you still have, increase zoom and try again.
Or, as a workaround, temporarily add some lyric syllable to a note in the middle staff in that measure.
Or you just increase staff distance from 3.5 to e.g. 6.5, the default value.
BTW: for the male voices you may want to use a G clef with a little 8 below (and move all notes an octave lower)

Hi Thanks. Staff distance doesn't work in this case but I downloaded the new musescore version and the spacer works so hopefully .......
