How to span a stem on two staves
- Add the 3 eight notes in the upper staff
- Add a quarter note on the lower staff
- Double click the quarter note stem and a blue handle should appear
- Drag the handle to extend the stem until it joins with the stem in the upper staff
- In the second staff you have now a quarter and a quarter rest. If you want to achieve the exact same result, with nothing below the 3rd eighth note, insert a 8th rest after the quarter and make it invisible (right click → )
- The rest will be grayed, it means it will not appears if you print or save as PDF. If you don't want it to appears on the screen, just go to →
