Cannot "select" instrument name
I recently downloaded the 1.0 version, and it is a great improvement.
I cannot, however, select instrument names by clicking on them, as in Ver. 9.6.2.3, and in fact, cannot select them at all. Any insight?

I guess the question is, what do you intend to *do* once you've selected it? If you're looking to rename the staff (or delete the name), you do that from Staff Properties. if you're looking to reposition the staff name, in theory one should be able to do that using the Text Styles dialog, but I can't get that to work. I kind of expect it to only affect newly created staves, but even that doesn't work. Luckily, I haven't yet had occasion to actually need to move a staff name.
