First of all save as a .WAV. - File Menu>Save As
Use your favourite freeware MP3 encoder to convert to MP3 - I use a combination of Audacity and the LAME mp3 codecs.
If you are sending it by email, however, the original .mscz file is far smaller than MP3, assuming the destination also has MuseScore to play the file back - but maybe you're wanting to prevent editing of your source.

Another way is to upload your score on http://musescore.com once done you can share it with anyone and the MP3 file is provided on the left side, click on the download button.

Er, Nicolas answered eight years ago, as you might see, and probably isn't reading this. A lot of things have changed since 2012- Today, simply "Export" and choose "MP3" in "File Type". It is important to look at the date on postings you read and reply to.

Only if the free open source MP3 implementation from LAME (modded for Audacity) is a problem. That's the only library it uses.

And MuseScore doesn't include that library, so you got to get and install it separatly.

Bonjour,
sous la version musescore2 Beta, impossible d'exporter en mp3 : après avoir téléchargé lame_enc.dll que j'ai mis dans program files de musescore2.
Lors de la tentative d'export, il demande de lui indiquer le chemin de la dll, mais ensuite il indique le message :"Impossible d'ouvrir la bibliothèque d'encodage mp3"
je n'ai rien trouvé dans les préférences, non plus...
Si vous avez la solution, je suis preneur

If I remember correctly:
download and install Lame (double click to run) should be sufficient.

effectivement, j'avais comme pour audacity et ça ne fonctionnait pas.
Je viens de télécharger lame sur le site buanzo.org, puis l'exécution a été suffisante.
