Deleting first instrument in a score delete's second instrument's slurs...

In a score with two instruments, deleting the first instrument also deletes the slurs for the second instrument... Am I doing something wrong? I'm trying to cut a two-instrument score down to a single instrument's part...

I'm running version 0.9.6.3 on Mac OS X 10.6.5.
