String quartet no.1 in D Major

• Aug 11, 2011 - 19:26

I'm composing a string quartet, the first one. Obviously it is uncomplete, i've attached the beginning an Adagio with reflection melody.
Comments, constructive critics are welcome! :-). I'll be happy if you'll say your opinion.

I enjoy music, though I have little training, I am learning.

Take these comments for what they are worth.

When I hear this piece, I feel I'm standing on the Canadian Plains, in the bright sun, late morning, late winter. I am someone contemplating a complex social situation - though I fear no serious consequence. Then in the 47th (?) measure, it is suddenly nighttime in a small North America city. I'm alone, it is quiet, many neon signs. I am still contemplative.

Just my first thoughts.

Thank you,

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your thoughts. I appreciate it alot.
The work is uncomplete yet. However i think i've centered the goal :-). Reading your thoughts: "contemplating a complex social situation, though I fear no serious consequence. Then in the 47th (?) measure, it is suddenly nighttime in a small North America city. I'm alone, it is quiet, many neon signs. I am still contemplative." Are these points i wanted touching, a deep reflection. :-).
Thanks yet,
Greetings,
Dario.

Stay tuned for updates.

I've finished 1st movement of this string quintet.
The string quartet usually is composed by two violins, one viola and cello perhaps i add a 2nd violin maintaining the contrabass :-). So this definitely a string quintet.
