Windows 8 Upgrade

• Mar 3, 2012 - 00:04

As some people know, the new Windows 8 Consumer Report Preview was released just recently. After I had installed it, (on top of the Windows 7 already on my laptop) all of my programs were deleted. After re-installing them, I found out that Musescore's main look, wasn't the same as it was on Windows 7. It in fact looked like it was older and not as professional looking as it used to be. Below is a screenshot of what it looks like and I"m wondering if this is fixable at all in any way?

I've only installed Win8 on a test station and I'm not there to check this right now. Try right-clicking on the desktop (launch windows explorer first) and personalizing it with a different theme, or at least an Aero-based Win7 theme.

Personally I would not have installed overtop of my existing licensed and activated OS. Win8 will cease functioning Jan 15, 2013. This is alpha status software and will be quite different when finally released a year from now. I would have repartitioned the drive, creating another partition for Win8 and setting up a dual-boot.

Go to edit -> Preferences -> General -> Style and choose another Style. (Maybe windows vista one). You might need to restart MuseScore. I'm curious to know if it works :) and if MuseScore works at all on Windows 8.

Yeah, it does work for Windows 8. The only thing is the layout and design, which is why I posted here.

Thanks again. :) I'll try that out.

EDIT: I tried the different ones, and found out that Cleanlooks and Plastique look the most like it did in Windows 7.
