Tremelo symbols can be found in the Tremolo palette in the advanced workspace: both one note and two note tremolos are possible.

Tremolo palette

Tremolo is the rapid repetition of one note, or a rapid alternation between two notes or chords. A one-note or one-chord tremolo is indicated by strokes through the stem of the note or chord. If the tremolo is between two notes, the bars are drawn between the notes. Tremolo symbols are also used to notate drum rolls.

Add a Tremelo

  • Single note tremolo: Select the note and double-click the desired symbol in the Tremolo palette.
  • Two note tremolo: Select the first note of the pair, and double-click the desired symbol in the Tremelo palette.

Note: In a two note tremolo, every note has the value of the whole tremolo duration. To enter a tremolo with the duration of a half note (minim), enter two normal quarter notes (crotchets), and after applying a tremolo symbol to the first note, the note values automatically double to half notes.
