Tempo auto-increment on play panel

• Apr 12, 2016 - 00:16

I use Musescore to practice my upright bass; I input songs or passages I'm trying to learn, and play along with playback to make sure my rhythm and intonation is good.

The playback panel with the metronome, tempo, repeat section, etc makes Musescore tremendously useful for this!

A technique I use (as I'm sure many others do) is to of course practice a passage very slowly at first, and increase the speed once I can play it cleanly. A super useful feature for me (and anyone else who practices along with it) would be an auto-incrementing of the tempo, i.e., with the play panel set to repeat a section (or the whole song), if the BPM could be automatically raised by "X" value every time it repeats. This is a somewhat common feature on electronic metronomes / metronome apps.

This way, I could hit play once - practice through at the initial BPM I set, then repeat at one or two BPMs faster next time around, and so on - without having to put down my bass, adjust the settings, hit play again, quick grab my bass before playback starts, etc.

Thanks so much!
