Sketch for violin concerto#2 feedback appreciated

• Jun 20, 2012 - 04:49

My first violin concerto suffers in that it only has 2 movements thus far -neither of which has been notated away from the piano. In fact I have a slow second movement which so far has no solo part it can be found under jm3 on this fantastic site! However my 2nd violin concerto and cello concerto have been actually composed on a midi . My pitch is so good I know what pitch is in my head w/out going to keyboard.I favor harmonies built around 2nd,ninths and major sevens while overall this violin concerto feels as if its oriented or has a significant pull to G but not tonally just as an individual tone maybe it will end up being in A MODE!! not in G major- since it is in no key for more than a measure or so.
I am in my forties. My hero is Havergal Brian who in his nineties wrote 7 symphonies &inhis 80's completed 14 medium sized full orchestra symphonies! Even though he was mostly ignored during his lifetime and isnt receiving too much attention even now he never stopped being creative and working vigorously! .I would like to become well known for my work like Pierre Boulez or Ned Rorem but it is enough joy to make my music . Morton Feldman is a big influence as well as the ideas of JohnCage, the instrumentation of Schonberg& Ravel has so much to teach all of us!
