Adjusting Figured Bass Continuation Lines

I have been told that the figured bass continuation lines are positioned differently depending on your platform/operating system. On my Macs, they appear as underscores — literally below the baseline of the figures, which is not how they look in the handbook. I would like to be able to have a setting for the vertical position of the lines as well as the distance they appear from the figures themselves.
