Problem with "Alt" shortcuts on Mac

• Sep 17, 2012 - 20:27

I've been having a look at the alt-number and alt-letter commands for entering frets in the new TAB keyboard entry method... or to be more accurate I've been looking at all keyboard shortcuts which include the alt key on a Mac and found that it's not just your new shortcuts that don't work.

It seems that all the shortcuts which select something, change the selection or move the insertion point seem to work. With the exception of "alt-command-t" to insert a tempo marking, none of the shortcuts involving alt which should insert objects (whether notes or markings) work.

I've not tested any shortcuts which don't include the "alt" key so do not know if the problem is broader than this or not.

The testing was carried out with default settings on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (fully up to date) and MuseScore 2 revision b9984ff.

For clarity:
The following work

⌥⌘↓ Go to bottom note in chord
⌥↓ Go to lower pitched note in chord
⌥⇧↑ Add staff above to selection
⌥⇧↓ Add staff below to selection
⌥↑ Select string above (TAB only)
⌥↓ Select string below (TAB only)
⌥⌘T Tempo Marking
⌥⌘↑ Go to top note in chord
⌥↑ Go to higher pitched note in chord

and the following don't work

⌥⌘O Add marcato
⌥0; ⌥A Add fret 0 on current string (TAB only)
⌥1; ⌥B Add fret 1 on current string (TAB only)
⌥2; ⌥C Add fret 2 on current string (TAB only)
⌥3; ⌥D Add fret 3 on current string (TAB only)
⌥4; ⌥E Add fret 4 on current string (TAB only)
⌥5; ⌥F Add fret 5 on current string (TAB only)
⌥6; ⌥G Add fret 6 on current string (TAB only)
⌥7; ⌥H Add fret 7 on current string (TAB only)
⌥8; ⌥J Add fret 8 on current string (TAB only)
⌥9; ⌥K Add fret 9 on current string (TAB only)
⌥1 Enter unison above
⌥2 Enter second above
⌥3 Enter third above
⌥4 Enter forth above
⌥5 Enter fifth above
⌥6 Enter sixth above
⌥7 Enter seventh above
⌥8 Enter octave above
⌥9 Enter ninth above
⌥⌘1 Voice 1
⌥⌘2 Voice 2
⌥⌘3 Voice 3
⌥⌘4 Voice 4
