Crash of build on New UbuntuStudio 12.04 64bit install

• Oct 20, 2013 - 19:25

Just installed UbuntuStudio 12.04 64 bit in VirtualBox, then followed the instructions at Compile instructions (Ubuntu 12.04) - Git and worked through some install issues with the help of Building a 32 bit version of 2.0 on Ubuntu Studio 12.04.

- When running after a build from the command line (make)
- launching from build.release/mscore/mscore
- adding a note, it crashes with a Segmentation fault (core dumped)

The workaround is:
- Edit > Preferences > IO > Check ALSA Audio > OK
- Relaunch
- adding note, nolonger crashes.

So something isn't right in the default preferences.
e.g. Use Internal synthesiser checked, but no specific interface checked.

Oddly enough, when building from Qt Creator, I didn't run into this problem, so it is something specific to the command line build, or running from build.release/mscore/mscore. (I run the Qt Creator built version from MuseScore-build/mscores/mscore), but now if I uncheck all of the specific interfaces, then it exhibits the same crash upon adding a note.
