Extend duration with the pedal (MIDI-input)

Thank you for making and sharing MuseScore!
When I started writing scores in the early '90 I used a program with one feature that I think would make MuseScore even better - if possible ;-)

When entering music with MIDI keyboard I could extend the notes that I pressed at my keyboard by the duration that was selected by pressing the pedal connected to my keyboard. It was a very fast way to enter piano or vocal scores even when the duration varied because you didn't have to leave the keyboard with your hands to change duration. F.ex. entering a dotted quarter note and eighth note I would select eighth as duration, press and hold down the key, tap two times on the pedal, release the key an press next key once. This worked for chords too, and I could release some keys an extend others. You might already have considered this, but in case not I would recommend it as my favorite note input method :-)
