Different Version of Weber's Clarinet Concerto
I'm making a version of Weber's f minor clarinet concerto. Weber's original version had an orchestral prelude, but not a full orchestral exposition, like in Mozart's and Beethoven's concertos. I added a ton of passages at the beginning, and I also changed the melodies and orchestration of some parts just because I found those a bit awkward. I haven't finished arranging it yet, and I'd like to hear what you think of it.
This is scored for two flutes, two oboes, two bassoons, four horns, two trumpets, timpani, solo clarinet and strings. The only difference between this and Weber's is that Weber's had three horns, and the third horn would only play in the second movement. I wouldn't want to bore the third hornist, so I added a part for a third horn (and also a fourth horn because why not) for the rest of the piece.
I also gave the clarinet something to play in the tutti so that the clarinetist doesn't get bored as well.
