Bagpipe Embellishments - Playback

• Mar 18, 2019 - 00:20

Hi guys.. just trying out the software to see how it handles inputting bagpipe music. So far, so good. It actually imports BWW format files. Not perfect, but easy to edit once it's in.

One thing I noticed when I try to play back the bagpipe score, it treats gracenotes and other embellishments like regular notes.. In bagpipe music, embellishments are not accorded any time in the music, though of course it does borrow slightly from the note preceding it in practice. They're played VERY quickly. When playing in the software, though, the tune is basically unrecognizable due to the way it attempts to play gracenotes and other embellishments. In other bagpipe composition software, during playback, the embellishments are played much quicker and closer to the way they're supposed to be on the pipes. In MuseScore, however, gracenotes appear to be played slower and are accorded a note length. Is there a way to speed it up, or failing that, make it so the gracenotes are ignored during playback? That's not optimal, but at least the tune melody would be there minus gracenotes.

Thanks!
