Prelude no.11 in g #minor

• Aug 5, 2014 - 22:53

The other as of now 15 preludes I've engraved can be seen at 21st century boy. I still have to write a F# major prelude and d# minor to finish my sharp group of keys in 5ths. F major is posted already as are 2 preludes in g and C.So there may be 18 or 19 in this first book -not sure. This was written in a single evening that carried over into 4 a.m . I'm obsessed. My composition skills are being tested since the middle section is about pitches adjacent to g# and their lying outside friendly sclae and key relationship territory. a and g natural lie outside the domain of the key set and I tried to suggest this idea in middle section where I could have simply substituted a harmonized melidy in B maj or some other contrasting key. I need to study the traditions a little more so I have more options. I havent posted here in 2 years because I dont really have many finished compositions but at least 40 or 50 unfinished ones Im always returning to 2 piano concerti 2 violin concerti a cello concerto a symphony a string quartet and many orchestral tryout music. Im studying orchestration books.Adler,Widor and Rimsky so Im having lots of fun as of august 2014. This is reall just a note to myself.Of course i would appreciate some feedback
