Dynamic Docking Piano Roll

• Mar 7, 2020 - 08:08

Making the piano roll window dynamic to show whatever stave you click on or by choosing a different stave/instrument in a dropdown option within the piano roll window. This would update an already opened piano roll window by just choosing an instrument or by clicking on a stave (instead of having to right-click on a stave and select piano roll). It would enable a much more swift and usable piano roll experience when working on large scores as one only need to click on the respective stave of interest and immediately have an updated piano roll window to examine and edit. Also, if the window could be docked to the bottom or top of the window, that would also make for a more superb integration into the given workspace by allowing everything to be seen at once during the editing process.

My current workaround is to resize the entire MuseScore window so that there is room above/below, then place the piano roll window in that space so I can view everything at once.

By the way, I'm new to MuseScore after 15 years with Sibelius. I'm fascinating by this program and thinking very much on joining the community with the future of this program. Amazing what has been accomplished by this community.

Thanks very much-
Daniel
