Small General Midi Keyboard Output Device

• Dec 8, 2020 - 20:23

Hi all,

Slightly off topic but I'm hoping someone out there may be able to help me in a quest for a certain device.

I currently use either an old Yamaha PSR-410 or a Disk Orchestra Module for Midi output from my PC. These are somewhat cumbersome however and I would like a smaller device.

What I'm actually looking for is a General Midi Keyboard with 16 Midi channels, Midi Out, it's own built-in speakers but only with 2x octaves of keys - so a good small device. I thought I had found it with the Akai Mini Play, but this only has 2x Midi channels on the input side so you can't send multiple instruments to the unit.

Ideally I want the Yamaha PSR410 but just with 2x octaves.

A Midi Controller keyboard won't do as they don't have speakers or sound generation.

Does anyone know of such a small keyboard that I could use for this? I have searched but nothing is coming to light. I don't mind if it's an old device that I can buy used so long as it does what I need.

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Regards

TMW
