Importing multitrack midi from DAW to separate musescore staves

• Jan 11, 2021 - 15:30

I haven't been able to find a post that quite covers my question - so here goes...
When I import a midi file of 4 DAW tracks exported from my DAW (Reaper or Studio One) to a midi file in to musescore Musescore pairs tracks to a piano stave.
If I edit each DAW track manually so that it has a different midi channel. Musescore then imports the DAW tracks to separate staves. So 4 DAW tracks to 4 separate musescore staves.
My problem is that in Studio One I am not able to manually edit the midi channels for a track.

I have attached 2 midi files. One a standard midi export from Reaper and the other where I have edited the channels manually. There were 4 DAW tracks which were exported to 1 midi file.
If I import either midi file in to Reaper or Studio One they recognise that the midi file contains different tracks and separates them to different tracks.

Does anyone have any tips on how they go about exporting from a DAW to musescore that might help me?

Many thanks
Mark
