NEW ADDITION TO THE LIST OF INSTRUMENTS: "ZAMPOGNA A CHIAVE"

• Jun 21, 2021 - 15:29

The "zampogna" (called Italian bagpipe) is a wind instrument, very ancient, used by Italian shepherds. It is an aerophone with an air bag (use of a pocket) and belongs to the category of encapsulated reed instruments. When the bag, usually made of goatskin or sheep's skin, is inflated and maintained at the right pressure (abbotto), it emits a continuous sound through its bourdones (generally 2 unmodulated blowpipes) and a modulated sound through the pipes: the "ritta" (right) playing the melody and the "manca" (left) playing the accompaniment.
I have simulated the Zampogna sound with the following :
RITTA: oboe sound
MANCA: oboe expr sound
BORDONE BASSO : Trombone sound
BORDONE ALTO: Oboe expr. sound
Attached is the music sheet of "Accompagnamento al Santo" where I have set the sound as above.
The result is the best I have been able to do. However, I really would to set a specific sound for each component, in order to reproduce the "Zampogna a chiave" sound .
Can you help me with that ?
Forgot to tell you that Zampogna is a monochromatic instrument and the one in question is in G major key.
WHAT NEXT ?
best Paolo
