Finding a soundfont with no-vibrato options

• Dec 29, 2022 - 21:57

I make heavy use of pitch adjustments to justly tune the chords in my scores, and I want to be able to hear the consonance in the playback, which requires a virtual instrument with zero vibrato. No such virtual instrument is available in any of the default MuseScore soundfonts (because it would sound awful for most users' purposes), but it looks like installing additional soundfonts is straightforward.

However, I'm having trouble sourcing an .sf2 or .sf3 file that I know will contain a satisfactory virtual instrument. Does anyone know where I can find one? It would need to be synthesized rather than from a real recording, but I'm hoping to find something that at least attempts to emulate the timbre of a real instrument, instead of something like a sawtooth wave. The ideal virtual instrument is something like the "trumpet" setting on a crappy digital keyboard.
