3 to 4: Convert Panning Values

• Mar 22, 2023 - 04:59

On Musecore 3, I have a saved template for the panning of a concert band. I wanted to make one for 4, but the mixer now operates on a -100 to 100 scale instead of 0 to 127. I don't know how to convert the values I made for each instrument to this new scale, so it looks like I'll have to start from scratch.

I'd like to know how to recreate that template on Musescore 4's mixer while still utilizing the full stereo width as I did with my old template.

For some context, I created my original template after an epic user responded to my call for help with an extremely helpful chart (Attachment 1). It details Musescore 3's panning range from the conductor's perspective over a typical concert band layout. Even after explaining to them that the layout I'm used to was in contradiction with theirs, this absolute gigachad posted a blank version (Attachment 2). With it, I could assign the values for each section according to the layout I'm familiar with.

With that said, I'm wondering if there's some way I can replicate that with the new panning range. I don't know at all how I can accomplish that, so any help is much appreciated in that regard.

TL;DR: How do I go about converting the mixer settings of my stereo template from Musescore 3 to 4?
