Problems Updating to MS4.0.2 on MBP

I am using MS 4 on a Macbook Pro running the latest version of Ventura 13. I am trying to update MS4 to 4.0.2. I end up with the old version of MS4 in my Apps folder along with a shortcut to "MuseScore 4 Alias," which seems to be the newest version. Shouldn't the update simply override the old version? Is there a problem with the updater for Macs? TYIA.
