Chord symbol auto placement: doing weird things

• Jun 25, 2023 - 21:33

Hi again folks!

I have a score with chord symbols above fretboard diagrams. It looks fine, until I move something apparently unrelated, such as the [B] rehearsal marker in the attached score. At that point, you can see the "Dm7" on the next system down shift below the fretboard diagram, and actually over lap it.

I then click Dm7 and tap "x" twice to get it back to where it should be.

Dm7 is set to auto-placement, and I'd like MuseScore to take care of making sensible positioning choices for me, since this is a work in progress, and details are subject to change. But:

1) the chord symbol overlapping the fretboard diagram appears to be a poor choice for auto-placement.

2) why is moving the [B] on one system affecting the content on the next system that is nowhere near it?

3) what should I be doing differently to let auto-placement handle putting things in sensible places? I'd rather not convert all the content to manual placement...

Thanks in advance!

Dave
