musescore 4 not playing alto sax line in transposed key (but it is correctly written)

• Oct 10, 2023 - 22:09

Hi, I'm writing a sax-piano duet and the tenor saxophone is not playing back in the transposed key. i've written D in the tenor sax line but it's sounding like C. i've used prior versions of musescore and have never had this problem, so I'm confused why this is happening. When I press the "concert pitch" button it moves the D down to a C but the playback remains C. how can I get correct playback of the sax line? In the bottom left corner when I click on the sax note it says pitch: D5 (sounding as C4). thanks!

Hi, I think i figured this out...I didn't understand what the concert pitch button did. I guess i need to write with the concert pitch checked then print for my saxophonist with it unchecked. please delete this post. thanks!
