[Regression] Pressing the "Home"/"↖" numpad key during playback doesn't affect playback

• Jan 4, 2024 - 18:27

In MS3, pressing the Numpad↖ key outside of playback would move the view to the start of the score, but it wouldn't change the current selection, and pressing play would result in playback continuing from either where it was paused or the currently selected item. However, if the Numpad↖ key was pressed DURING playback, it would cause the playback itself to shift back to the first note, so that was a useful workaround. One just had to hear half a second of irrelevant music before getting the desired effect.
In MS4, the former behaviour (outside of playback) is preserved, but the latter (during playback) is lost. Now pressing ↖ during playback only results in a visual movement to the top, the playback is unaffected. In fact, even that change in visual framing is temporary, because at the first system break the focus shifts back to following playback
