Problems with MIDI out and staves

I have discovered if I have a treble and base clef combined staff in a score and output that to MIDI file or use the score to drive a multi-tibre/channel synthesizer EACH STAFF of the score is a MIDI channel. The result being the two staves use two midi channels on the output which is unnecessary and wasteful. If would be more useful to me if a double staff had the option or by default of being combined into one midi channel. Once a keyboard has been split into bass-treble it's very difficult to get them merged back onto one staff. Ive not found a way to do it. A midi mapper would be as useful so a staff can be given any midi channel as output.

Copy paste in the application only seems to REPLACE which is another problem. Wish there was a MERGE feature to combine notes from other staffs onto one. If there is a merge I've spent days in the app and the inet looking for it.

Reading implode and explode deals with voices and I do not want to modify the voices in the above actions at all.
