Some feature ideas!

Hi there,
I have a few ideas for improvements that might make Musescore a little bit better for users.

  1. Long and short instrument names: Option to have the instrument name only once on a score with multiple of the same instrument. It would say, for example, "Clarinet," and then next to the parts would be 1, 2, 3. Screenshot 2024-02-14 at 2.08.12 PM.png

  2. Large, huge, and film score time signatures: Similar to what can be found in other professional notation software. Time Signatures.png

  3. Built-in compositional tools: Tools for adding courtesy accidentals and retrograde/inversion might be useful tools to have by default. I know there are some plugins for those things, but it would be cool for it to be fully integrated by default.

  4. Staff scaling: When you change the paper size, it would be nice if Musescore would try to adjust the scaling appropriately.

  5. Add euphonium to Muse Sounds: I know this is very commonly requested, but it would be great to have for wind ensemble writing.

  6. Marching brass: It would be cool to have sounds for marching baritone, euphonium, and sousaphone as a part of Muse Sounds for marching arrangers trying to make demo mp3s.

  7. Some bug fixes!

When you change the font of a tempo marking in format -> style..., it does not update on the score. The same goes for parts. To my knowledge, you also cannot change the font of an accelerando or ritardando and have that represented in the score.

When you italicize, bold, or underline a section of text in a text box, it will change all of the text in that text box to reflect that in the parts. Not just the one or two words you italicized, but all of the other text in that box will become bold/italicized as well.

I have been loving all of the improvements thus far! All of your work is very appreciated!
