Playing notes on the virtual keyboard or using the mouse, without entering notes

Just in case this hasn't been covered in any other threads (if it has and I didn't look properly, apologies), I would like to suggest a feature that I found in Anvil Studio that I used to use before MS. Because I've only found it in Anvil Studio so far, I'm very tempted to go back to Anvil Studio and I really don't want to because MS is the clear winner. Take a look at the attached screen dump from Anvil Studio. There's a "Lock Score" checkbox that you can toggle on/off. When it's on, you can play around on the virtual keyboard (or your computer keyboard) as you please, listen to notes and decide which ones you want. Then, when you've worked your notes out, you uncheck the box and lay them down on the stave.

If this can be implemented in MS if it isn't already, MS will be streets ahead of Anvil Studio and I'll be sure to become a loyal user of MS.
