Accurate desirable rendering of accents in playback.

I wrote an arrangement and put in some accents and accents with lines for general emphasis, which a player would automatically know how to play these, but in the playback the accented notes are way too much. I don't see any setting that allows me to moderate the volume of such accents- How does one do this to make such accents sound like one wants them to? Thanks
