Dynamics adjuster

With the arrival of third party sound libraries (Cinesamples, Orchestral Tools, Spitfire Audio etc.) one problem is that their relative volumes can vary significantly. For instance to my ears Berlin Strings are a full dynamic level lower than Muse Sounds, e.g Berlin strings mf is more akin to Muse Sound mp.

That's fine is you start a new composition from scratch, but if you want to mix and match different libraries, or just want to replace one with another one, it is tedious work to re-adjust the dynamics by hand. Using the mixer volume only affects the volume not the tone of the instruments.

One solution would be to have a tool to increase or decrease the dynamic markings by one level (or optionally several levels). This would also be useful when re-working a section and you decided to change the overall dynamics to make it quieter or louder.

Of course, it would have limitation - if you already had ppp or fff you couldn't go any lower or higher.
It should also give you the choice to adjust:
- just the current selection
- the entire staff
- the whole score.

Notion 6 has already something similar, which is very useful.

If it's not possible, where does one find the full documentation to create a plugin (I could only find a few examples using existing plugins, but no complete a reference )

What does everyone think?

Thx,

Rudi
