Pedal markings

I find pedal markings in 4.4.3 almost impossible to enter. This is some sort of a nightmare. Markings are never where they are supposed to be and are almost always misaligned.

What a mess... This can not be that bad. What am I doing wrong? I had absolutely no issues entering pedal markings in Musescore 3, but I find pedal markings pretty much impossible to enter in Musescore 4.
